The End of an Era!

Friday was Clarence's (Allen's dad) last day of work. He is officially retired. He has been working out of the same union hall as a heavy equipment operator for 43 years. He has been working for the same construction company, LW Construction, for 22 1/2 years. It is going to be a hard adjustment for him, but I think he will learn learn to enjoy some free time. He is hoping to spend more time with my kids and his newest grandpeanut, Julianna. We are so proud of you and wish you the very best! Allen gave me the idea to go out to the job site for the kids to see him on his last day. We picked up Krispie Kreme donuts (no visitor can arrive on a contruction site without treats :P) and balloons. The girls were so thrilled to see him! We got lots of pictures (surprise, suprise) with my new camera. The guys even had a huge BBQ lunch for him and another guy, Kenny. Kenny and Clarence both retired on Friday. The ironic part is that they started on the same day, on the same job 43 years ago!!!

Our celebration dinner at O'Charley's. That seems to be our favorite celebration place. That is where we went when we found out that we were having an Emily and then when we were having a Joseph. Then Allen took all the grandparents there right after Joseph was born :)

Here is the spread they had for lunch. Pretty impressive!
