Memorial Weekend

We went up to WI for the weekend. We had a super time, but it went way too fast. It was so nice to see so much family and friends. I really hate living so far away :(

Hannah and Emily had so much fun playing with their cousins. In fact, Hannah cried for hours saying that she didn't want to go to Hannah's house but that she wanted to go to her Nanna's house to see Nanny, Bumpa and her cousins. Too sad! I felt bad for her.

I also want to say how very grateful I am for all those who have served our country in the military. I am so glad I get to live in such a wonderful country!

Adjusting well

Wow, I got to be home all week. I don't even remember when I didn't have a hospital stay ;) I am recovering very well. I went into my ob. He said my incision is looking super...in fact weeks ahead of schedule. Then I went to my regular doctor to follow up with my pneumonia. I believe all is well there too.

We have had a great time adjusting this week to being a family of five. The kids are doing so well. The girls just love their brother. They help me all the time. Hannah says she is my big helper. Even though she is only 2 1/2 she really does help me :P Emily loves to kiss her brother. Then she will smack her lips and say Mmmm!

Thank you all for your prayers. Though this has been been a very trying last couple of months it sure is worth it now :)

The top picture is of Hannah and her cousin Caleb. They love each other immensely! They are just too cute. Then the middle picture is Joseph at one week. The bottom picture is of Emily and Allen at the zoo last Saturday. We loved our first family outing!

A setback

Ugh, I am so in need of your thoughts and especially your prayers. Yesterday I was sent to the ER because I was having trouble breathing. Well, they found that I have pneumonia. They admitted me again. I almost went ballistic. They had to give me something to calm me down. I did not want to leave my family again....especially not my new baby!

I am feeling terrible today. I can't even lie back on a 45 degree angle on my bed without feeling like I am going to suffocate. I am so exhausted and discouraged.

They are sending me to a cardiologist today to make sure this isn't stemming from my heart. My blood pressure has been crazy high again too. The last the nurse took it it was 188/102.

There's no place like home

We are truly so excited and thankful to be home. My parents were with us through the weekend. It was so nice to get to be with them. The girls had a super time wearing us all out :) I am still sleeping on the reclining loveseat. We are hoping to sleep in our bed tonight. Joseph is doing super. He is adjusting quite well to the noise level of our household. He slept pretty well last night, but he is sleeping on me. Yeah, yeah I know. I don't want to develop bad habits right away. I am hoping to keep him in his bassinet tonight. Hopefully I will get some sleep. I am recovering quite well from the surgery. Actually this by far is the fastest I have recovered. What a huge blessing!!!!

I'm Free!!!

After almost 2 1/2 weeks in the hospital Dr Behm has said he is going to release me. I can't tell you how excited I am. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and encouragement. I couldn't have made it through this without all of you. Now you can pray for our adjustment to home and real life :)

Recovering Well

We are doing so well. I have never felt this well after only two days before. What a blessing. I am pressing to get to go home tonight. Today marks two full weeks in a row of being in here. I miss my "normal" life!

Hannah is in complete and utter love with her brother. She doesn't want anyone to hold him but her. Wednesday I told her that we would have to share him with everyone. She looked up at me and said sweetly, "Not today"! She just kills me.

Emily has kissed him, licked him and stolen his paci. She likes him but would rather play with her Bumpa. He just makes her giggle and giggle. It is so cute.

This morning, May 10, 2006 at 8:07 am, Joseph Harrison Kish finally arrived! He is 21 inches long and weighs 7 pounds 13 ounces. He is doing great and has absolutely no problems. Monica is slowly recovering and the big sisters want to kiss and hug him endlessly.

Change in Plans!!!

Well, we have good news. My doctor has a meeting and cannot perform my c-section on Thursday. He has moved it up to Wednesday, May 10th at 7:30 am!!!!! Yahoo. I was a little worried that my parents wouldn't be able to come then, but Praise the LORD they were both able to get off. Now we just have to pray that it rains enough for Clarence (Allen's dad) to be off of work so he can come too.

Walking!!!

How cool!!! Today Emily started to walk, and I got to see it!! Allen got her to walk by holding up some peanut butter M&Ms as motivation. She took four consecutive steps right away. I think she may have been holding out on us :) Watch, next week she will be running.

Emily's 1st Birthday Party

Here are a couple of pictures from Emily's 1st birthday party. We got to have it in the room next to mine. The nurses were so nice to decorate it for me and everything! What a blessing!!!!

Some good news

Well, I am happy to announce that I finally have some really good news to report. The perinatologist said that we can go ahead and schedule the c-section for next Thursday at 3:30pm. So, his birthday will be May 11, 2006! Just missed your birthdays Beth and Laura :) They are making me stay in the hospital until then though. Ugh, I am so sick of being in this place. Stir-crazy is an understatement!

I can't tell you guys how much I have appreciated all the prayers and letters of encouragement! I don't know how I would make it without you guys. I am truly blessed with fantastic family and wonderful friends!!!
