Gall Bladder Update

I had my surgery follow-up yesterday. He said all four of my incisions look good. I asked him what he found when he got in there. He told me that he doesn't open it up but pathology does. So, he read me the report. It said I had many stones in there some 1.5 cm in diameter. Along with the stones there was sludge (pleasant) and stone debris. As I flinched and made disgusted faces he said all that was really normal for someone who needed their gall bladder out.

When I told Allen the size of the bigger stones he got out the tape measure. It doesn't sound like a lot but 1.5 cm is pretty big. In fact, it is the exact size of popcorn chicken! I seriously measured it. Yuck!!!! No wonder I was in so much pain.

Fun in the Sun!!!!

Yahoo.......I am thinking summer might actually be here. It was warm and sunny today. That is a rarity as it has been such a wet spring here. So, we thought we would catch some rays and break out the pool...giant isn't it :)

Loving the pose from Hannah. Notice the lovely bush in the far right corner of the pic. That is my new one :) They had such a good time playing today. We played out there for hours.

This one made me laugh. Doesn't she look like a gymnast?

Enjoying a lovely lunch of string cheese, gogurt, pear and orange wedges topped with a not so healthy corndog :) Balance right?

Phew, they got worn out and had to take a break. I love coming in from a day in the sun and getting wet.....putting on dry clothes and taking a nap. My kids always take the best naps after all that. Then I can sit up "wasting" time by playing on the computer :)

Doing Yard Work

Last night after dinner we all got busy getting dirty. We had some yard work that I've been dying to do. I am now feeling 100% after my surgery. In fact, I am feeling way better than the couple of weeks before my surgery. I am so glad that chapter of pain is over!!!!

Here is Emily watering our newly planted bush in the backyard.
Our backyard has had a mud issue since we've moved in. We are planning on edging the playground and putting a bunch of mulch all around it to help with the mess. I got a couple of bags to tide us over until Papa will be back to help us plan this out and help us pick up a ton of mulch. We are having to share MawMaw and Papa. They are in NC visiting Allen's sister. She is to be giving birth to her second girl, Lily, any day now.
My kids' favorite thing to do is to dig in dirt. So they were in their glory planting this bush. Well, actually Joseph kept trying to fill the hole back up. Oh well!

After digging holes my lovely hubby hung hooks so that I could have hanging baskets of flowers. What is a covered porch without some flowers. Huh, I didn't get a pic of the finished product. I will have to do that later with the front landscape pics :)

Their second favorite yard chore besides digging would have to be watering. Wow, they were soaked and dirty, but they had a super time. I did too. I have been waiting over a week and a half to get these things done. Amazing that I could wait that long!!!!

Do you ever Feel??

Do you ever feel like you will never be motivated or have energy again? That is exactly how I am feeling today and yesterday and the day before that in fact!

Most times it is better for me (or so I think) to keep pushing pushing pushing. Allen let me take a nap on Monday. We didn't get up until about 9 to begin with because we kept the kids up late. Then we took a nap. I ended up sleeping another 3 hours! Most would say..see, you needed the rest. Now that may be true, but it has thrown me full force into lazy mode.I can't get myself to get anything done. I have closets that need to be organized, a playroom that has to be set up, 10 bushes that need to be planted, and school work for the kids to work on. None of it is getting done. To my credit, I did have to run all three to the doctor because I feared they had strep. Thankfully it is just a virus or allergies.

Do you ever have the same problem? Or are you guys the kind like my mom who can take power naps and is lots better for it?

She is Getting so Big!

Friday was kindergarten registration!!! I can't believe Hannah is old enough to go to kindergarten. She is going to be the youngest in her class though as she will start school before she is even 5. I think she will be fine though.

After registration in front of her new school!!!! She did super. I was so proud of her. She even got the whole waiting area to say a collective "awwww" When a teacher came out to get her the teacher said Hannah will you come with me? Then Hannah said (unprompted by me), "Yes, Ma'am!" First of many proud mommy school moments!!!

Memorial Day Weekend Cookout

We got to host our second social gathering since moving into our new house. We had a cookout. We had over Karen, Allen's parents and the Boyd family (David is the youth pastor and music minister at our church). We had a great time. We even had excitement at the end. We were playing games and there was a HUGE lightning storm. Well, it got our power. So we just finished playing by candlelight. I actually kinda liked it ;) We were wanting to have a campfire to relax by but couldn't because of the rain, so this was a funny alternative!

My three posing for their mommy. I have been so negligent in taking pictures.

My cool cupcakes I bought of course and the even cooler sparkler pics.

The kids had a tea party. It was so cute! My kids loved playing with the Boyd kids

This Week in Some Pics

We had music playing while we were getting ready for our Memorial Day weekend party.

Hannah and Joseph were slow dancing when I came around the corner. It was so priceless!

MawMaw and Papa came over several times again this week. They have been a blessing over and over tous. We are so lucky. Well, I bought a stupid amount of flowers to plant only to get home and remember that I don't have any existing flowerbeds! This is a problem. So, I didn't want to waste those flowers, so Jane peeled up grass for me. She was amazing. The soil is so hard and clay-like that she had to use a shovel and then hammer it into the soil!!!! It looked so beautiful. I was so grateful. And the reason why I wasn't doing the hard work is because I had to have my gall bladder removed the week before! Never a dull moment.

End of Cousin School Year

As many of you could have figured out, the school work was NOT the favorite part of our last cousin school session of the year. None of us really wanted to do work, but alas it needed to be done. Then we got to go out and play.We tried to do a sack race. The little kids had a hard time, but it was funny to watch.

Opening recess. Perhaps that was my first mistake. I shouldn't have let them play outside on a perfect day in our cool new yard. It was hard to get them in for work.

Lots of Work

My wonderful family came down on Thursday night to help us all weekend on our house along with Allen's parents. The guys had a horrible weekend of cold and rain to set up our labor intensive play set and vinyl fence. I was so very grateful! They were all so amazing. The ladies helped me decorate, put together the birthday party and many other things!

Guys taking a much needed break

Allen and my dad. Sorry about the sideways shot.

Dakota worked so hard outside with the guys. His shoes got so dirty that he had to borrow my dads. They were so big it was funny....the glasses added to the humor!

Saying good-bye wasn't easy! Here is my dad, Chris, Allison, me , Joseph and Dakota
