Allison visit: Wednesday
Today Tammy and I took the kids to Suson Park in South County. It was a lot of fun. It was really warm though. I am still not used to the summer heat and humidity.
Feeding the ducks. We were later badgered by the aggressive geese. One was hissing and stealing bread out of the kids' hands. I hate birds!
We packed a lunch for the kids to enjoy in the park. It worked out so well. Thankfully the geese left us eat in peace!
The kids were making a wish at the wishing well. It was so cute. We heard Hannah say, "I wish I was a princess". Caleb then said, "I wish I was a cowboy". They are so precious!
He is a little dare devil. I was so impressed that he had the strength to climb that rock wall all by himself. I turned around and he was up that high!
The park had a little farm in it. We got to see a bunch of animals. Then we got to see a cow milking demonstration. Very cool

After the demonstration the farmer let the kids pet the cow on her nose. Joseph wasn't too sure about her :) I think it was probably mutual!
Ha ha ha! This makes me laugh. We saw this duck in the little lake. Hannah said, "Hey that duck looks like MawMaw"! I died laughing :)

It was neat they had all kinds of stale with animals for the kids to look at. It was a super day! I am just so very tired!500th Post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was everywhere. I even "discovered" it in more places than the eye could see when I was trying to clean it all up. So much for having a break while they napped!
Hannah funny of the week: She put her foot in Allen's face and said, "Look at this!" He was confused and said "What am I looking at?" She said, "My feet. I have father feet." He was confused. Well, the polish had come off her toe nails so she was upset that her feet might look like a man's :)

Allison visit: Tuesday

Today Heather and Kenny came over. We first went to the library for our classes. Yikes, that was a long two hours trying to keep Joseph occupied and quiet. That adj has never been accurate for any of my kids, namely Joseph!!!
After dinner Heather had a softball game. We had a great time cheering her on. Heather and Allison have grown close. I am so happy for both of them that they are getting along so well...well, I am happy for myself as well. Two preteen girls together could go either way!
After the game we came home. After getting in jammies we had a VBS dance party ;) They loved teaching Allison the songs. Allison even asked for me to burn the songs onto her MP3 player. I love my kids singing about the Lord!
Slumber party!!!!!! We had ice cream, a dance party, popcorn, soda and a movie. I think that is a super end to the party. Can you tell they are getting tired???Monday, June 23, 2008
Allison visit: Monday
Tada! The big pool. It wasn't as icky as it was last night, so I gave in to the pleadings to swim in it. I gave them a shower immediately afterwards though :)
Our big treat was all getting Dippin' Dots today. This was Allison's first time having them. They were a hit. It was supposed to only be 82 today but it ended up being 88!!!

Last year we got to feed the giraffe some grass. We tried to coax them over but to no avail!

"Donkey" said like Shrek of course!
We got to say All Aboard again today as guest conductors on the railroad :)

We thought this was funny. It looks like this caiman or whatever it is can stand on his tail.
It was a good day to the zoo for the most part. It started off a little rough. In fact, mine were acting so bad that I had to threaten to leave. I was tired so I wouldn't have minded leaving early except that I would have felt bad for Allison! In the end, it was a good day.

Allison visit: Sunday

Saturday night I layed out the girls' outfits so that as soon as they got up they could get dressed for church. I normally also pick out the shoes and put them on top. Well, I didn't. It was driving my OC Emily nuts. She had to get out of her bed a bunch of times. I didn't know why until I was ready to go to bed myself. She had picked out everyone's shoes. She picked out ruby ones for her to wear with her green and pink dress! Allison was supposed to weat tennis shoes with her dress...eeek. And Hannah had patent leather shoes to go with her sundress ;) I wonder if reading Fancy Nancy right before bed had anything to do with it :) Or it could just be that she is my daughter!!!
Poor kids. They have been waiting to swim in the big pool since Friday. It has rained and things so they couldn't. After nap today they were supposed to get in. Well....we have an algae issue. So we put chemicals in, but then they still couldn't go in. I felt so sorry for them. They were disappointed. Thankfully, no one had a fit! I was so proud of them. So back to the baby pool they went. Here is the swimsuit we found for Allison at Costco, Dana. It was only $12 and it is a Speedo....notice not a speedo but a Speedo brand ;)
Allison visit: Saturday
Saturday was the birthday party at the park for Caleb and Audrey Ham....my kids' cousins on Allen's side. It was a super time with yummy food.
All the kids at the party. It was quite a rowdy group but they sure love playing with each other!
Hannah and her cousins Lauren and Breanna
Saturday night we had a BBQ with the Boyd's (-pastor david as he is on a missions trip with the youth) & Auntie Karen. It rained again! So, the kids had a good time playing in the basement. Here they are mid dressup session watching Veggie Tales. Heather is also 9 and going into 4th grade, so it was nice for Allison to have someone her age.Allison visit: Friday
This is why I love Allison to come down for a visit :) She helps me lots. My niece, Allison, is down this week from WI. We have loved her visit already. She is always so sweet and helpful (no I am not kidding Chris and Dana :P)!
One of our first activities was to go to the library. We have gotten tons of books and have read a bunch of them already. Ally is keeping good track of her minutes read to earn a prize for Tueday when we go back. She has even been reading to my kids and they love it!!!!
After Allen came home we took the kids to South County StL to the Incredible Pizza place. Lots of fun, lots of food, and lots of volume :) We didn't stay too long as we had to go shopping at Costco but we all enjoyed it
After we got home we made brownies for Caleb and Audrey's birthday party on Saturday. I had three wonderful and beautiful helpers! BTW they turned out awesome.

Parade
Tonight was a Waterloo parade. Our church decided to have a float; therefore, we walked in the parade. Here are my kiddos in their vbs/parade gear!
Getting ready to head out. Funny thing..... 2/3 of my kids peed their pants during/after the parade....that was even after I had to take them in the Gibault bushes while we were waiting 45 minutes for our turn to head off into the parade route!!! ARRRRGGHHHHH
Our pastors and their lovely wives: Lisa and David Boyd & Steven and Sharon Neill. Ha, can you tell which one is the youth pastor?!
Hangin' Loose before the parade begins
During the parade. The girls loved running and handing out the freeze pops. Joseph loved being pulled while eating freeze pops :)We really missed you Allen. He is gone on business all this week :*(
