Happy New Year to all!!!! I can't believe it is 2007 already. I still remember all the panic about Y2K :)
Do any of you suffer from the first of the year blues. It is a bit of a let down to have Christmas over, especially for me because that means I have to leave my family again. But it seems more than that to me. Maybe it is coming home with two garbage bags full of laundry (even though my mom did tons of our laundry when we were there....thanks!) Maybe it is the mess left by Christmas. I don't really feel like taking everything down, not to mention trying to find spots in my tiny house for all my kids' new cool toys and such. I have a hard time parting with the old stuff :)
Maybe it is just all the work. I have the clean up, the laundry, the normal household stuff, my kids are in social withdrawl, and I also have to work on getting back on track with my eating. Maybe it is because I watched the last Packer game of the year. In fact it may very well have been Brett Favres very last game. Sunday afternoons have nothing good to watch....I don't get much into NASCAR although I like Jeff Gordon (I put that in just for you Tammy!).
What about you guys? Am I nuts?
What are some of your prayer requests? Here are some of mine.
1. Spiritual growth for all of us. Hannah to get saved. She getting a better and better understanding and I want her to accept Christ early in her little life.
2. Allen's job: They are working him to death. He likes his profession but they are severely understaffed. Pray that they will give him a good raise as well.
3. Pray for my addiction to food.
4. Wisdom about having one more baby. I first have to lose 30 more pounds....that's tough! I also have to check with my cardiologist in Feb to see what he thinks. Then we need to see if that is what God wants for our family before we proceed. I want to make sure we can afford it. Allen's deductibles went up to $2000 a person and 4,000 a family. YIKES!!!! My desire is to have another one. In fact, we have even picked out the names. Yeah I know anal :) We would like Katelyn Makayla or Noah Henry. I am not positive about the Henry. I usually don't like those kind of names, but it is my Dad's middle name and it seems to go with Noah. We have to pick one with an H because all the boys in the family have H and the girls have middle names beginning with M :)

First...Scott might not let me talk to you after that comment about Jeff Gordon...at least you didn't say Jimmy Johnson:)
I know what you mean. I think the hardest thing to me was having to go back to work! I had a terrible time getting up on Tuesday morning.
I am a total neat freak, so getting the Christmas stuff put away was wonderful for me! I needed things to be back in order.
Ha ha ha! I like him too Way to go Nextel cup :) Just as long as he doesn't like Dale Jr or Tony "I am a big whining baby who has tantrums" Stuart!
Yeah, see the thing is....I am a neat freak at heart and I can't do anything about the mess until Allen is home to help me because of my lunatics :P
hey monica i love the names you have chosen if we have another little'un we have chosen lilli-mai for a girl and henry-sean for a boy the lilli-mai is my nan's sisters names and the henry is roys middle name and sean is my dads name i love the old names.
we have named the kids after all family members too olivia is after auntie olive rose is my nans name and with george that was my great grandad's name patrick after your dad and francis is the family name for boys on my dads side
As a matter of fact...Tony Stewart is his favorite. He likes anyone driving for Joe Gibbs...although he is coaching football now. Jimmy Johnson is at the bottom of his list. He is so arrogant!
How funny! It seems like there are two camps....the Gordon/Johnson crew and the Dale Jr/Tony Stewart crew.
Nicki....so George's full name is George Patrick Francis? He is just adorable!
Scott doesn't really like Jr. because he says most of his fans only support him because of his dad. I think he's a nice guy though.
BTW...the first race I ever saw was the Daytona 500 on February 18, 2001...the day that Dale Earnhardt died.
I LOVE the name Henry! Not too crazy about Noah b/c it shapes the mouth so weirdly, & you spend SO much time saying "no" to little people . . . I can't imagine saying, "No, Noah" more than once without feeling like the wiiiide mouuuth frooog! hahaha Teasing, teasing. I do love Henry though!
I want a fourth as well. Paul doesn't. I would love a son, & I'd love to name him Charlie. If a miracle occurs & we do have another son, he'll most likely be named Zack Ross though. Which is fine too. :o) For a girl, we'd probably go with Katie Elizabeth to keep the unintended "K" thing going with the girls. Wouldn't want her to feel left out even if we didn't mean to do two K's with the first two.
I will be praying for your heart ~ what is the situation there exactly? This must be something that happened in the timeframe when we were out of touch.
As for New Year's funks, my mom gets them, but I never really have.
Your true desire is to have one more baby and I like the names. So do it, if its safe with your health.
Definetly praying for your requests.
Here are some of mine:
To have a REAL relationship with my two sisters, where they sincerely desire to know me and create a friendship.
To build our Quixtar business up to a level where Buddy is home more.
To keep losing weight so we can join you in being parents some day.
To keep up on my devotions daily.
My advice for your eating addiction, read "The 7 Keys to Weight Loss" by Dr. Phil. I am reading it and it has helped me a lot because I too am a emotional eater. That is exactly how I got this fat, besides all the fast foods I ate 4 years ago and never got it off.
One thing that I read last night in the book is to only eat at the dining room table. I didn't realize how hard that was and what a bad habit I had with this. I caught myself about 7 times trying to stand and eat in the kitchen!
As far as trying to get eveything done, just relax and take your time, there really is no hurry.
hey friend -
not super fond of henry either :) but troy's middle name is eugene so we will have a middle name of one of our boy's be eugene..that is ok - we will be praying for you in regards to future babies...and wisdom. We can't wait to see you in a few weeks.
ahhh...yes, you will have to concede to that too Sherry :) I can't wait for you to have kids!
We are looking forward to seeing you too...now if you will just stop changing the date :P Just had to tease as it is usually us that changes!
